Welcome to Where's Tom

Join me on a once in a lifetime journey through retirement, exploring the beauty of family, the warmth of friends, and the majestic landscapes of as many of the 63 National Parks my little Escape’ Trailer can handle. This is more than just travel; it's a new chapter of discovery,  shared stories, spectacular views and many new friends.

Information

My ultimate goal is to make this short and as enjoyable as possible while discussing driving across the country living in a small camper visiting faraway places, National Parks and my precious daughters and brother and sister-in-law.

I'm internet bound so be patient, I'm only using my regular ATT so limited at times.

I will list each campground and any highlights during the visit.  Check out the Travel Notes page as well as the other pages if you're really bored.

I wanted to say a quick shoutout to my Bowie contingent who voted for the site to be called "Where Tom at?" Sorry you got voted down but thanks for playing!

8/23/26 So it's been over a month since my last entry but it's not because I didn't have anything to update.  Quite frankly an additional 6 weeks of amazing places, people and 167 pictures.

I visited Autumn in San Antonio, TX, Ali in Flagstaff, AZ, MattnAmy in Salem, OR,  Big Bend National Park, before the current knuckleheads started desecrating it.  I went all over AZ, Utah, Oregon and finished up for a week on the Olympic Peninsula.

10 weeks, 11,000 miles, 300 pictures and so many campgrounds and amazing people.  I'll update more now that I have internet but I have added more pictures currently for your enjoyment lol. Check out the other pages.

Getting ready for the month of September in New Hampshire and climbing as many of the 48, 4000 footers.  Retirement sux lol, thanks Larry!

Prior Update 6/12/26. Hit the 1000 mile mark, not making any speed records but that's not the point .  The point is to enjoy the journey and not just rush to the next thing or Zoom whatever.

I've used my free birding app, (they said in retirement class I had to bird) Merlin by Cornell Labs, in most places just for fun to see if any cool birds. I remembered the guy who told me about the app back home and its calling feature but that it confuses the birds so they now give a free tiny couch with each app to counsel the birds when they're confused about what's calling them lol.

6/19/26. Just arrived in Texas, first stop Eisenhower State Park,  Ike's birthplace and visit Mike Smith both equally as important.  Next, San Antonio to hang with Autumn wahooo! Last stop, Big Bend National Park then on to Dog Canyon Campground, New Mexico.

June was spectacular.  I'm ending it with a hotel stay in Roswell, NM for a shower a cool room, do laundry and get an oil change not to mention visit some aliens.

On my way to Arizona and visit with Ali then on to Sedona and the Grand Canyon and spend a bunch of time in Utah.
